Provided, that such candidate would need to present evidence of five years experience (notarized) in actual plumbing work under the supervision of a registered master plumber, alongside a high school diploma or transcript of records.

The 2-day examination consists of four major subjects namely: (1) Plumbing Arithmetic, (2) Sanitation, Plumbing Design & Installation given on the first day, (3) Plumbing Code & (4) Practical Problems & Experiences on the second.

Some questions focus on plumbing-specific topics including questions about building code,  and how to approach various plumbing challenges.

Others deal with design & other aspects of the trade that a Master Plumber may encounter.

These questions ensure that master plumbers are fit to perform the scope of works stipulated in Section 2 of RA 1378.

After someone passes the exam and becomes a Master Plumber,  a license number is issued. It is necessary, however, to keep up with continuing professional development (CPD) to stay on top of the latest developments in the trade.
